The well-known Italian sports car manufacturer, Ferrari has announced its latest entry-level supercar – Ferrari California F149 GT, which powered by 4.3-liter V8 engine with direct fuel injection and a “flat” crankshaft, producing 460 horsepower at 7,500 rpm.
As what you see in the photo, this new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. The all-aluminum California is the first Ferrari to feature its V8 engine mounted in the mid-front position.
“I am very satisfied indeed with the work that the women and men of Ferrari have done,” said Luca di Montezemolo, President of Ferrari. “The California is an extraordinary car and I was delighted with the performance, comfort and driving pleasure it delivered. The California is, like all of our models, the epitome of cutting-edge innovation. Its gearbox, suspensions and chassis are the most advanced possible. This is the first dual-purpose Spider/Coupe with a retractable hard top that closes in just 14 seconds. Despite its extraordinary performance, the California 2+ is also exceptionally easy to drive and has a space behind the front seats that makes it supremely flexible in terms of usage.”
According to the company, “As per the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine, which allows the Ferrari California to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds, will be coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that boosts the car’s performance while enhancing the driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions (c.310 g/km CO2). The comfort is further enhanced by a new multilink rear suspension system. The Ferrari California is also equipped with the exclusive F1-Trac traction control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further honed to suit the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT. Brembo brakes featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient braking.”
The cool car will debut at Paris International Car Show in coming October.
