The 2008 Nissan Rogue based on the Nissan Sentra is now available in both front and all-wheel-drive configurations which are Rogue S and Rogue SL. Both of the new Nissan Rogue models comes equipped with an 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with optional paddle shifters. With an 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, this engine will deliver more power than most of its four-cylinder competitors and nearly as much as the Santa Fe’s V6.
Besides, this compact crossover also features Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)), 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and an all-new all-wheel drive system with yaw moment control. Compact Crossovers are more popular than ever because of the versatility of a larger SUV but with more fuel efficient engines. With an 182.9 inches in overall length and riding on a 105.9-inch wheelbase, the new Rogue is slightly smaller than the Santa Fe but bigger than the Honda CR-V.
“The Rogue’s utility is a little more stealthy. All the necessary compartments and storage spaces are there; they just don’t scream ‘utility’ at you,” said Bill Bosley, general manager of Nissan division.
Inside, the company has used a multilink setup instead of struts to maximize cargo space in 2008 Nissan Rogue’s interior. For safety, Nissan also included some standard safety features into 2008 Rogue including front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags for front and rear outboard occupants.
The sleek and modern styling 2008 Nissan Rogue is now available in few varient models with a price tags from $19,250 to $21,870.
