Mercedes-Benz is planning a super-sports car that will be built by its official DTM partner, HWA AG, without the help of McLaren. HWA AG was formed by Hans-Werner Aufrecht in 1967, one of the founders of AMG and eventually led to the creation of the HWA Racing team. In addition, the new car is designed to compete with Audi’s R8 as well as BMW’s upcoming competitor for the R8.

This Mercedes’ supercar will be powered by 700hp version of the 6.2L AMG V8 engine from AMG. We can expect to see a concept version of the car in coming March, 2008 at the Geneva Motor Show.
