Amongst the six cars, five were last recorded to be in Italy. The sixth car (Chassis number CSX2287) was lost in the 1970s. It was then found in 2001 in a rental storage unit in California. The registered owner of the car, Donna O’Hara, had committed suicide by burning herself alive. The car was worth US$4million when it was found after lying undiscovered for about three decades. Donna O’Hara’s mother and a friend of O’Hara (who was named in Donna’s will) went to a legal court to fight for the car.

After retiring from the Formula One battle field, the F1 legend and also seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher, bought one of the six units of Shelby Cobra Daytona Super Coupe. It is not sure which chassis number the world champion purchased, but whatever it is, the legend now has a legend with him.
