Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren super sports car is going to hit the market in the form of a soft top roadster. This Mercedes-Benz SLR roadster is powered by an 575 pound-foot supercharged (Kompressor) 5.5-liter AMG V8 engine delivering 460 kW/617 hp, which is capable of whisking the coupe up to 332 kmh (207 mph).  The roadster version is ‘just as quick’, which makes it the quickest car with a power retractable roof in the business, according to Mercedes-Benz.  The powerful engine which is coupled to an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission, accelerates the Roadster from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

With its fully retractable top, the Roadster offers undiluted open-air driving pleasure in the highest performance class, its occupants in no way lose out in terms of comfort or the vehicle’s suitability for everyday use. Besides, the roof opens and closes semi-automatically in less than 10 seconds. The SLR roadster’s exclusive standard equipment includes semi-aniline-leather-upholstered carbon-fiber bucket seats which can be individually adapted to the driver and front passenger by means of differently sized seat pads; dual-zone automatic air-conditioning; a high-quality BOSE premium sound system; a multifunction sport steering wheel with gear-change paddles, and a navigation system with integral radio and CD player. Besides, this roadster also features adaptive airbags, knee and side airbags as well as seatbelt tensioners and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.
