Changing Your Car Battery

After a few trials, the car still cannot be ignited. Having problems starting your car engine? Ya, most likely your car battery has run flat. It’s time to get a new one.

To buy a battery for your “beloved wife”, first of all, buy the kind of battery that the auto maker who crafted and designed your vehicle recommends. It is easy to find the right battery. If you are not sure what kind of battery, try to check your car owner’s manual or check with the auto experts such as part dealers or car mechanics for additional information.

Don’t’ throw away the old battery even though you have bought a new one. You can exchange the old one for recycling purposes.

Once you get a new battery ready, open the food and locate your battery. Once you have found the old battery, disconnect the cables from the terminals of the battery. Remember: you should find the negative cables first before you proceed to disconnecting the positive cables. Negative cables are coloured black while the red one are the positive cables. Once you removed the cables, you can now remove the frame that holds the battery in place and take the battery out.

Make sure the cable terminals are clean before you put in the new car battery. You can use a wire brush and some baking soda with water to clean them off if they are already dirty or are already corroded. Clean the battery terminal also. Replace the battery-terminal if they are already damaged and beyond using.

When all done, it’s time to put the new battery in the frame. Then attach and connect the cables. This time, attach the positive cables, and then negative cables. After connected, start you engine. If the cables are connected properly, the engine should start easily as well.
