380.5km/h is the top speed of the world’s fastest droptop. The Brabus CLS V12 Rocket clocking in at 365.7km/h, making it the world’s fastest sedan. That’s nothing compared to the mark set by the 9ff-Porsche 997/911 Carrera 2 3.6 Biturbo Cabrio.
This result was tested at Nardo last month. The German car magazine Auto Bild and tire manufacturer Continental sponsored a high-speed showdown, during which big-time tuners from all over — Sportec, Brabus, 9ff, and TechArt just to name a few — descended upon the circular track in Italy to see what they could wring out of their high-horsepower hardware.
Word is that lead engineer and the owner of 9ff, Jan Fatthauer, got into the car (with a removable hard top in place), drove three laps, parked it and went for some coffee with the new record in hand.
